The new case rate in Utah continues to decline. 7-day moving average now 1141
The data for the last week looks bogus but it was a continual drop every day.

Deaths remain elevated, but the trend is down.

The countries with the most Novel Corona Virus infections (raw numbers not population adjusted)

United States 27.0 million up 900,000 but down from 1,070,000 in the prior week.
India 10.82 million up 80,000, little changed.
Brazil 9.4 million up 270,000down slightly
United Kingdom 3.95 million up 128,000 down from 170,00
Russia 3.9 million up 65,000 but from down 129,000
France 3.4 million up 140,000 little changed
Spain 2.94 million up 199,000 but down from 243,000
Italy 2.53 million up 83,000 little changed
Turkey 2.47 million 53,000 up slightly
Germany 2.3 million up 66,000 down from 77,000

In Asia, Japan and Thailand remained elevated.
In Europe, things were well contained except for Spain whose infection rate is still high but improving. Great Britain reported a huge number of deaths 18,420. This seems to be the result of their running out of hospital space.
The U.S. averaged 119,000 cases per day down from 158,000 new cases per day the prior week. Deaths are still elevated. Indiana reported a very high 1,843 deaths for the week.
The U.S. infection rate is 8.20%. If there is a country with a higher rate, that country is not one that I follow.
Meanwhile, the U.S. death rate stands at 1.72% It is the lowest of all countries outside Asia (and New Zealand) that I follow .
The states showing the most rapid increases in the past week - just one Vermont, its elevated rate continues.

Infection Rates:

States with infection rates over 10%: North Dakota (12.8%), South Dakota (12.4%), Utah (11.1%), Rhode Island (11.1%), Tennessee(10.9%) Arizona(10.7%), Wisconsin(10.3%), Iowa(10.3). Newly added Arkansas (10.1%), Nebraska(10.1%)
States with infection rates between 9 and 10 percent: Mississippi (9.4%), Nevada (9.0%), Illinois(9.0%), Montana (9.0).
States with infection rates under 5%: Washington 4.2%, Oregon (3.5%), Maine (3.0%) Vermont(2.1%), Hawaii (1.9%)

Death Rates:

States with death rates over 2%: New York (3.0%), New Jersey (3.0%), Massachusetts(2.8%), Pennsylvania (3.0%), Michegan (2.5%), Louisiana (2.2%), Mississppi (2.2%), Maryland (2.0%),
States with death rates under 1%: Utah (0.49%), Alaska (0.50%), Oklahoma (0.94%).
