Cases in Asia are on the rise, with higher numbers seen in Japan, and Viet Nam. Cases contiue their climb in India and the Philippines.
Numbers are also higher in Western Europe with France averaging 1,057/day and Spain 2,300/day. Sweden has the highest infection rate amoung European countries that I follow.
The U.S. continues to log an average of 56,415 new infection per day, but the death rate is a not bad 3.18%
South America is still largely "out of control" with Brazil leading the way with an average of 44,766 cases per day. Meanwhile Argentina has reached a new peak in cases/day at 5,458
Australia has more infections per day then ever, but the avearage daily count is a managable 499.
In the U.S. California, Texas, Florida and Georgia are all over 5,000 new cases per day, with Florida leading at 9,040, yet many professional sports opted to re-start there seasons in the sunshine state.
Arizona is trendin better and is no longer has the highest infection rate. That distinction goes to Louisiana at 2.58%
Utah had it first ever significant decline in new infections since the pandemic began in the U.S. in March 2020. It lost the best death rate to Alaska as it logged a significant number of deaths in the past week (with fewer infections).
The lowest infection rate in the U.S. in Hawaii with a very low 0.16%. Islands that keep visitors out can really drive down the infection rate.
