- Almost everywhere I looked new SARS-CoV-2 infections rose and in some cases rose dramatically.
- In Europe, things got much worse and did so dramatically. Great Brittan averaged almost 5,825 per day, while France and Spain both had over 10,000 per day.
- In the U.S. several states crossed the 2% infection mark: Utah, California, Missouri, Maryland, Nebraska, Delaware, along with both North and South Dakota.
- Countries that I follow recording more than 10% of all infections this past week: France (15%), India (21%), Spain (11%), Greece (13%), Argentina (12%)
- The U.S. count of new infection rose to 45982 per da .
- States recording more than 10% of all infections the past week: Wisconsin (16%) Utah (10%), Montana (15%), South Dakota (13%), North Dakota (13%), Wyoming (14%).
- States with more than 3% of the population infected:; Louisiana, Florida, Mississippi.
- States with a 2%-3% infection rate are Texas, New York, Illinois, Georgia, New Jersey, Arizona, Tennessee, South Carolina, Alabama, Iowa, Nevada, Arkansas, Rhode Island, and North Dakota, Nebraska. Being added this week are: Utah, California, Missouri, Maryland, Nebraska, Delaware, along with both North and South Dakota
- With the large jump in Alaska, Utah returned to being the state with the lowest death rate among all 50 states.
- With respect to the total number of infections (raw count) Utah now has more than Colorado. Our Eastern neighbor has 2.5 million more people than Utah. Thus the Utah infeciton rate is 2.20% while that of Colorado is 1.2%.
