As expected the down trends continues. With good Christmas break behaviors it will continue to go down
There were exactly 100 Covid-19 related deaths in Utah during the last week. A good decrease from the prior week. The seven day moving average death rate dropped to 14 from 17.

France 2.6 million up 78,000 - - First country to reach the 4% infection rate other than the U.S. (5.8%)
United Kingdom 2.3 million up 248,000
Turkey 2.1 million up 150,000
Italy 2.1 million up94,000
Spain 1.9 million up 57,000
Argentina 1.6 million up 41,000

In Europe, things are generally improving especially in France, Spain, Greece, and Italy. Germany had a bad week bit its standards, The U.K. again rose more than the other large Western European nations.
The U.S. averaged 180,618 new cases per day. Down from the prior week, but not fully reported due to the holiday.
The U.S. infection rate is 5.8%. If there is a country with a higher rate, that country is not one that I follow. France this week reached 4.0%, the highest rate among large countries in Western Europe.
Meanwhile, the U.S. death rate stands at 1.7% the lowest of all countries outside Asia (and New Zealand) that I follow .
States with an infection rate over 12%: North Dakota up from 11%
States with an infection rate over 11%: South Dakota up from 10%
States with an infection rate over 8%: Wisconsin, Utah, Iowa, Nebraska, (new) Tennessee,
States with an infection rate over 7%: Illinois, Minnesota, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Rhode Island, Wyoming (new) Indiana, Arkansas; New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Kansas
The states currently showing the most rapid growth in cases (9% or more of all cases last week) are California, Maine, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, West Virginia
Statues with less than a 2% infection rate: Hawaii, Maine, Vermont.
States with less than 1% infection rate: (NONE)
States with over a 4% death rate: New York, New Jersey
States with over a 3% death rate: Massachusetts, Connecticut
